Botanical Garden
The San Antonio Botanical Garden connects people to the plant world through experience, education, and research. Since the Fall of 2018, Burnam | Gray has worked in partnership with the San Antonio Botanical Garden team to conduct a comprehensive fund development department assessment. This assessment identified strengths and areas of growth, along with a roadmap for developing an organization-wide culture of philanthropy and the appropriate, long-term staffing structure to support that culture.
After our initial department assessment and recommendations, we have been working with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to revisit a strategic plan from 2012 and create a strategic playbook that will guide the Garden through the next 18-24 months. We have worked with board and staff to craft organizational values; review and tweak operational goal areas; worked with the senior leadership team to develop strategies and annual benchmarks along with the development of a “scorecard” for each goal area.
Our work during the 2018 spring and summer also included creating and implementing a timeline for hiring a Vice President of Advancement, a newly created position that will oversee a comprehensive marketing and fundraising strategy for the San Antonio Botanical Garden.
