Thrive Youth Center, Inc. was established because of the efforts of one woman who recognized a dire need for LGBTQ youth living on the streets of San Antonio. In the spring of 2015, Sandra Whitley simply planned to partner with a local church in order to provide the very basics of food and shelter for an almost invisible homeless population; LGBTQ youth. And, then Haven for Hope and the City of San Antonio invited her to open the center on Haven’s campus. She accepted and Thrive was born! After a year of primarily concentrating on developing the Thrive program, Sandra realized the need for building organizational capacity through the establishment of an active and engaged board and the creation of a fund development framework.
Burnam | Gray joined efforts with the Thrive team to provide the tools necessary to create a fully functioning board, to make recommendations for full implementation of a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system, to develop a fundraising strategy focused on long-term sustainability and to offer general nonprofit guidance as it relates to organizational growth and expansion. A spark is a powerful agent in igniting the fuel it takes to propel an organization forward – our partnership with Thrive is igniting ideas, systems and processes that in turn will create long-term sustainability.
