Main Plaza Conservancy is a nonprofit organization committed to providing San Antonio with the historical and cultural “Heart of the City”. Main Plaza Conservancy has developed its place on the San Antonio cultural map with its diverse music and family programming and continues creating new cultural traditions.
Main Plaza was at a unique juncture to develop a sustainable funding model for the Conservancy. The staff and Board set a goal to follow best practices for private fundraising, specifically donor acquisition, donor development, and corporate/foundation partnerships. The Cielo Strategy team worked with the board and staff to equip key stakeholders with the skills and resources to grow the organization’s philanthropic program so that ultimately, the organization would have less dependency on city contracts through the engagement of private donors.
We worked directly with the executive providing guidance and support using best practices for donor databases, annual giving, event planning, and relationship management strategies. We facilitated coaching sessions, board training, and assisted with material development creating a diversified annual fundraising plan and developing a year-end appeal.
While working with Main Plaza Conservancy, the organization faced an executive transition and our team supported the Board of Directors through an executive hiring process.
